Ringo Starr To Release New Album

The forthcoming album features a number of collaborations with popular recording artists of the 70s and 80s. Eagles guitarist and vocalist Joe Walsh makes a guest appearance on Ringo 2012, as well as The Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart and Benmont Tench of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. The album is a follow-up piece to 2010′s Y Not, which also featured numerous collaborative pieces. Soul singer Joss Stone, former Beatles bandmate Sir Paul McCartney, and Ben Harper all loaned their talents to Y Not.

Starr took a moment to describe the recent Beatles documentary, created by Martin Scorsese, George Harrison: Living In The Material World. The drummer, who was born as Richard Starkey, described the monumental band as being “punks.” The musician has appeared in more than two dozen film pieces, including Beatles films, documentaries, and full-length, big screen pictures.

Ringo 2012 is Starr’s seventeenth solo album release and is set to drop on January 30th.
