The British-Irish boy band, One Direction, will be the featured musical guests this Saturday on the iconic American sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live.
In an interview with MTV News, Niall Horan said, “This is our kind of show. You know we like to have a bit of a laugh. This is our perfect kind of show, we get involved as much as we can.”
It is possible that the young lads will be involved with a skit or two, in addition to singing. “We might be making appearance after performing as well. Who knows?,” said Liam Payne. We know they can sing, but can they act, and are they funny? “We know we are,” Liam continued. “We’re just those guys who think we’re funny.”
One Direction has risen to the top of the Billboard 200 charts with their U.S. debut, ‘Up All Night.’ Released on March 21st, the boys’ first album sold over 175,000 copies, making them the first UK group to debut at No. 1 with their first album. Their first single, ‘What Makes You Beautiful,’ was released back in September and peaked at No. 1 in the UK.
Originally discovered on Simon Cowell’s, The X Factor, the group signed with Cowell’s own Syco Records, and then later signed with Columbia Records in North America.
