Azealia Banks Slams Lady Gaga About Her iTunes Festival Performance

Azealia Banks slams Lady GagaIt’s been the battle of the mermaids, to be honest Lady Gaga is having a hard time from fellow popstars this week. A singles battle with Katy Perry and now Harlem Rapper Azealia Banks has taken a pop at the Born This Way star about the theme for her performance at this year’s iTunes Festival Opening Night.

On the run up to the festival Gaga had been teasing the world with what to expect and this included teasing that the theme would be a Mermaid theme. Previously Azealia Banks had used this theme in her performance back in 2012 for her Mermaid Ball. Banks tweeted…

“@ladygaga hmmmm sounds alot like Azealia Banks’ mermaid balls,”

“Of COURSE gaga wants to play mermaid again….. Pffft. Not picking a fight. Just all looks soo familiar…. To me.” The ’212′ star added: “It’s just …. Late.”

She followed on from these Tweets stating that Lady Gaga was out of ideas. This is not the first time that the Rapper has taken a pop on Twitter… Lilly Allen  has had the pleasure of Azealia Banks Twitter pops too, she stated that Lily was ugly and a bitch. As well as Lilly there are few others: Rita Ora, Baauer, A$AP Rock and Lil Kim.

Lady Gaga Mermaid outfid

One other thing to note, Lady Gaga performed a track, Ratchet which was originally meant to feature Azealia Banks; unfortunately it did not make the final cut. Is this the straw that upset Banks?

On a positive note One Direction star Niall Horan had some time off and swapped performing for enjoying the show from the audience. Gaga and One Direction have sparked a friendship after she backed the boys up when they were booed at the MTV VMA’s.

“Don’t you dare let those people boo you. If I did hear what I heard out there, I just want to tell you that you deserve every bit of success that you have.”

So it is not all negativity about the performance. Lady Gaga new album will hit the shelves later this year on November 11 and will feature the tracks from the gig plus 8 more tracks as Gaga also stated that the new album will feature 15 tracks. Get ready for ARTPOP!!!
